Saudi Arabia has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since December 7, 2022. Public documents from other Convention countries – civil-status certificates, diplomas, police certificates, notarial deeds, court decisions and company documents – are accepted in Saudi Arabia with an apostille from the issuing country, unless an Article 12 objection is in force between the two states. No embassy or consular step is required.

No Contracting State has objected to Saudi Arabia’s accession, so documents from any Convention country need only the apostille of their issuing country. Saudi documents for use abroad are apostilled by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Degrees and professional licences for the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and employers, police certificates for work visas, corporate documents for the Ministry of Investment and export documents are the most common cases. Healthcare professionals usually go through a DataFlow primary-source verification, which accepts apostilled copies.

Saudi recipients regularly require Arabic translations. Where a document is submitted in English – common for medical and corporate dossiers – the receiving body specifies whether a translation is still needed.

Notaryzer handles it end to end: the notary reviews your application, we organise the apostille or legalisation in the issuing country, arrange the translation and ship the result to you or directly to the recipient in Saudi Arabia.

  • Healthcare dossiers: an apostille on notarised copies keeps your originals safe for DataFlow
  • Export documents: an apostille on the chamber-certified document replaces the old embassy stamp
  • Ask the Saudi recipient whether an Arabic translation is required before you order one
