Kyrgyzstan has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since July 31, 2011. Public documents from other Convention countries – civil-status certificates, diplomas, police certificates, notarial deeds, court decisions and company documents – are accepted in Kyrgyzstan with an apostille from the issuing country, unless an Article 12 objection is in force between the two states. No embassy or consular step is required.
Note: Austria and Greece objected to Kyrgyzstan’s accession, so between Kyrgyzstan and those states the apostille is not accepted and legalisation applies.
Typical requests for Kyrgyzstan concern family matters and employment. Authorities in Kyrgyzstan generally expect documents in Kyrgyz or Russian; where a document is not bilingual, we add a sworn translation, and for several countries the translator’s signature is apostilled as well. Austria and Greece objected to Kyrgyzstan’s accession, so documents are legalised between those states; elsewhere apostilles work, and Russian translations are usually required.
Notaryzer handles it end to end: the notary reviews your application, we organise the apostille or legalisation in the issuing country, arrange the translation and ship the result to you or directly to the recipient in Kyrgyzstan.
