Estonia is an EU member state and a Convention party. Between EU member states, civil-status documents – and police certificates of a citizen’s own member state – need no apostille (Regulation 2016/1191); the multilingual standard form replaces a translation. For documents from outside the EU, and for diplomas, notarial deeds, court and company documents, the apostille of the issuing country is required.
Typical requests for Estonia concern e-residency companies, employment and residence. Authorities in Estonia generally expect documents in Estonian or English; where a document is not bilingual, we add a sworn translation, and for several countries the translator’s signature is apostilled as well. EU member and CIEC state: civil-status documents are exempt; corporate and notarial documents need the apostille, English is widely accepted.
Notaryzer handles it end to end: the notary reviews your application, we organise the apostille or legalisation in the issuing country, arrange the translation and ship the result to you or directly to the recipient in Estonia.
