Peru has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since September 30, 2010. Public documents from other Convention countries – civil-status certificates, diplomas, police certificates, notarial deeds, court decisions and company documents – are accepted in Peru with an apostille from the issuing country, unless an Article 12 objection is in force between the two states. No embassy or consular step is required.
Typical requests for Peru concern family matters, residence and citizenship. Authorities in Peru generally expect documents in Spanish; where a document is not bilingual, we add a sworn translation, and for several countries the translator’s signature is apostilled as well. No objection to Peru’s accession remains in force, so apostilles work; Spanish translations are required.
Notaryzer handles it end to end: the notary reviews your application, we organise the apostille or legalisation in the issuing country, arrange the translation and ship the result to you or directly to the recipient in Peru.
