Monaco has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since December 31, 2002. Public documents from other Convention countries – civil-status certificates, diplomas, police certificates, notarial deeds, court decisions and company documents – are accepted in Monaco with an apostille from the issuing country, unless an Article 12 objection is in force between the two states. No embassy or consular step is required.
Typical requests for Monaco concern residence and banking. Authorities in Monaco generally expect documents in French; where a document is not bilingual, we add a sworn translation, and for several countries the translator’s signature is apostilled as well. French translations are required; Monaco is not in the EU.
Notaryzer handles it end to end: the notary reviews your application, we organise the apostille or legalisation in the issuing country, arrange the translation and ship the result to you or directly to the recipient in Monaco.
