Cook Islands has applied the Hague Apostille Convention since April 30, 2005. Public documents from other Convention countries – civil-status certificates, diplomas, police certificates, notarial deeds, court decisions and company documents – are accepted in Cook Islands with an apostille from the issuing country, unless an Article 12 objection is in force between the two states. No embassy or consular step is required.

Typical requests for Cook Islands concern corporate and trust matters. Authorities in Cook Islands generally expect documents in English or Cook Islands Māori; where a document is not bilingual, we add a sworn translation, and for several countries the translator’s signature is apostilled as well. English documents are accepted without translation.

Notaryzer handles it end to end: the notary reviews your application, we organise the apostille or legalisation in the issuing country, arrange the translation and ship the result to you or directly to the recipient in Cook Islands.
