Philippines court judgments & divorce decrees apostille: questions

DFA. Issued by: Court certified true copy

Yes. The apostille must be issued in Philippines, but you do not have to be there: we organise a suitable original where possible, the submission to the competent authority and delivery of the apostilled court judgments & divorce decrees anywhere. The notary reviews your application first.

An Article 12 objection is in force between Philippines and Germany; documents for these countries are legalised or verified instead. Non-Convention countries such as the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait always need legalisation.

The HCCH record lists: Philippine pesos (Php) 100 for regular release; Php 200 for expedited release E-Register: https://e-registry.apostille.gov.ph/. Official fees are passed through 1:1 and shown separately in your quote.

Many registries accept a shortened decree covering the divorce itself; courts and pension authorities often want the full decision. We check what the recipient needs before the translation, which saves pages.

The court’s confirmation that the decision is final (decree absolute, Rechtskraftvermerk, certificado de firmeza, kesinleşme şerhi). Nearly every foreign authority requires it on a divorce decree. It is stamped by the court on the certified copy and covered by the apostille.

Recognition rules differ by country. Within the EU it is largely automatic; Türkiye, India and many other states require a registration or recognition procedure for which the apostilled, translated decree is the key document.
