Eine Apostille kostet die gesetzliche Gebühr der zuständigen Behörde des ausstellenden Staates – von kostenlos (Türkei) bis zu einigen Dutzend Euro oder Dollar in den meisten Ländern – zuzüglich, wo nötig, einer Notargebühr für Privaturkunden, einer neuen Urkunde vom Register, einer beeidigten Übersetzung und Kurierkosten. Woraus sich der Gesamtbetrag zusammensetzt
- Behördengebühr – gesetzlich festgelegt im ausstellenden Staat (Tabelle unten, nach den Angaben der HCCH).
- Notargebühr – nur für Privaturkunden, die zuerst einen Notar benötigen.
- Urkundengebühr – für eine neue Ausfertigung einer Geburts- oder Heiratsurkunde oder eines Führungszeugnisses.
- Übersetzung – pro Seite angeboten, wenn der Empfänger sie benötigt.
